A lot of credit to a lot of people on this one: Joe Vriens had a tutorial in issue 50 of ImagineFX on speedpainting monsters. I can't speedpaint worth crap, so I decided I'd follow the video tutorial exactly - but as I started speedpainting along, I came up with some creatures of my own - and this was one. Well, I just had to go with it. Ended up taking several hours, but it may be the first piece I've done entirely digitally that I'm actually somewhat happy with! So, thanks to Joe Vriens, and thanks to (I'm so sorry about this, but I don't know where I got them from) the wonderful deviant artist who uploaded tree brushes, which I used in this image. If you see this, please let me know and I'll credit your name.
Done in PS CS4 (~4 hours). |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
