Angry Giant Daikon

A lot of credit to a lot of people on this one: Joe Vriens had a tutorial in issue 50 of ImagineFX on speedpainting monsters. I can't speedpaint worth crap, so I decided I'd follow the video tutorial exactly - but as I started speedpainting along, I came up with some creatures of my own - and this was one. Well, I just had to go with it. Ended up taking several hours, but it may be the first piece I've done entirely digitally that I'm actually somewhat happy with! So, thanks to Joe Vriens, and thanks to (I'm so sorry about this, but I don't know where I got them from) the wonderful deviant artist who uploaded tree brushes, which I used in this image.
